The DME Technician is responsible for the timely delivery and pickup of patient equipment and supplies.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate delivery/pick-up times with patients in a timely and efficient manner

• Transport and deliver equipment and supplies for each patient in a safe and secure manner. Report any damage to Operations Manager

• Explain each document in the New Patient Packet to the patient/client or caregiver

• Educate the patient/client or caregiver of their rights and responsibilities

• Ensure the patient/client or caregiver understands the proper use and care of the equipment delivered

• Maintain all paperwork necessary for each delivery such as: daily route log, equipment log, and route log

• Pick-up and return equipment upon request of physician/patient/client/caregiver

• Clean and service equipment according to policies and procedures

• Maintain inventory and record all medical equipment and supplies received and delivered

• Keep warehouse clean and organized

• Maintain professional appearance and attitude at all times and serve as a good-will liaison between the company and customer or any other individuals encountered within the scope of employment

• When assigned, responsible for on-call duties 24 hours a day and maintaining on-call log

• Responsible for knowing and complying with applicable policies and procedures

• Immediate reporting of any accidents or mishaps while on company time to Operations Manager

• Other duties as assigned

• Highly organized with a strong attention to detail

• Can perform physical lifting for delivery and stocking equipment
