POSITION SUMMARY :
Responsible for the oversight of the overall operations of the Case Management Department. Performs Case Management activities to assure necessity of patient admissions and appropriateness of continued stay; monitors length of stay and collaborates with Medical Staff to ensure appropriateness of care. Assures that the facility provides high quality, cost effective medical care / service to its patients. Supervises the activities of Case Managers. Maintains confidential communication with physicians and multi-disciplinary personnel. Assures collaboration between quality resource / outcomes management functions / social services functions. Participates in the department's planning, revenue analysis, budgeting, education and human resource activities. Consults with staff, physicians and CNO to ensure issues are addressed, policies and procedures are interpreted to ensure quality patient care.
