What are the responsibilities and job description for the Authorization Specialist position at Florida Medical Pain Management?
Florida Medical Pain Management is seeking an experienced Authorizations Specialist/Charge Poster for Pain Management services to join our growing practice. Strong knowledge of Orthopedic and Pain Management Preferred along with billing/coding and HIPAA regulations. This is an on location position.
Medical Biller Job Responsibilities:
- Request and follow-up with insurance authorizations for office and ASC-based procedures
- Perform charge posting for assigned schedules ensuring ICD-10 codes align with medical records and provider comments
- Update EMR and/or other systems based on documentation provided by physician/clinic for creation of medical claim and/or posting of self-pay charges to patient accounts
- Improve revenue cycles by monitoring patient accounts, setting payment arrangements, and pursuing delinquent accounts
- Communicate with team members to resolve questions, claims, and patient concerns
- Follow all HIPAA and practice guidelines to ensure patient privacy and safety
- Complete all supplementary tasks assigned by Revenue Manager
