What are the responsibilities and job description for the X-Ray Technician/Medical Assistant position at Florida Orthopaedic Associates PA?
Busy orthopedic office looking for x-ray tech who can also do some medical assistant work. You will be a vital member of the healthcare team, utilizing core skills to perform diagnostic imaging procedures. - Maintain Florida licensure, meeting state and federal requirements.
- Performs X-rays on patients as specified by the physician
- Identify and prepare patients for x-ray, escort patients to and from X-ray room
- Ensure X-ray equipment is kept clean and in good repair.
- Maintains needed supplies
- Completes paperwork for check-in/check-out of films/CDs, X-rays, MRI, CT, etc.
- Records/logs all incoming films/CDs
- Responds to/manages X-ray related requests. For example, attorney request for films/CDs
- Responsible to see that necessary X-rays/MRIs, etc are copied and delivered to hospital or ASC in time for surgery
- Files and purges X-ray films as needed
- Burn CDs
- Assists and cross-trains with other office functions as needed
- Help in clinical area with medical assistant work
