We are seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will help provide physical therapy services under a licensed physical therapist's supervision. This role involves working with patients to help them recover from injuries, regain movement, and manage pain.
Duties:
- Assist in implementing customized treatment plans for patients under the guidance of a licensed physical therapist.
- Perform and document musculoskeletal examinations on prospective employees to ensure they are in good health to perform their job duties, including DOT, and basic occupational health exams
- Evaluation patients in tandem w staff physicians who have limitations or work restrictions and determining fitness for duty
- Perform relevant employee testing, including urinalysis (drug testing), hearing (audiogram), vision (digital Titmus exam of acuity, peripheral, color, etc.) and TB screenings.
- Administer vaccinations
- Perform phlebotomy (training available)
- Evaluate patients for returning to work after injury or illness
- Conduct employee training on health and safety
- Monitor and document patient progress during therapy sessions.
- Educate patients and their families on exercises and techniques for continued improvement.
- Collaborate with the physical therapy team to ensure effective patient care.
Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
- Willingness to be certified in DOT urine collections and Breath Alcohol Testing (we would provide training)
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and orthopedics is beneficial.
Skills:
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and colleagues.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documenting patient progress.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and basic computer skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and treatments.
