Summary
As a Credit Associate at Florida Paints, you will support the credit department by performing tasks related to credit and collections, such as processing applications, managing overdue accounts, and communicating with customers regarding their financial obligations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Properly process cash applications and job accounts as received in the credit department.
- Input new accounts into the computer and communicate account information to the store, salesperson, and management.
- Process AR reports for salespersons and stores.
- Gathering and organizing customer financial data, including credit reports and financial histories.
- Process and maintain “Notice to Owner” procedures and follow-up.
- Assisting with collecting overdue payments, negotiating payment plans, and managing outstanding debts. Make collection calls, emails, and demand letters.
- Identify problem accounts and accounts that need to be put on hold.
- Maintain and update credit applications and all customer files as related to credit.
- Post daily payments, process credit card payments, and make daily bank deposits.
- Communicating with customers regarding their financial obligations, providing updates, and addressing concerns.
- Maintaining accurate financial records and reports, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. Input invoices to vendor systems to collect payments.
- Communicating findings and recommendations to internal stakeholders.
- Collaborating with other departments to ensure seamless credit processes
- Other duties include filing, credit releases, credit references, and other clerical tasks.
Requirements
Skills & Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience, with at least two years of experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Outlook) is required.
- Problem-solving skills and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong communication, organizational skills, and collaboration skills.
- Detail-oriented and highly adaptable to shifting priorities, requests, and processes.
- Must pass background and drug testing as per federal and/or state transportation regulations.
Physical Requirements
- Required to stand, walk, and sit; talk or hear, in person and by telephone; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms.
