Position Specific Description

Our Power Delivery Regulatory Affairs group is looking for a Senior Regulatory Affairs Analyst to join their team in Jupiter, FL. Employees in this role will be involved in the Company’s projects and dockets that are filed with the Florida Public Service Commission (FPSC) and other regulatory agencies the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). This position provides excellent exposure across many programs in Power Delivery.

Specific Job Duties And Responsibilities May Include

  • Project management of highly complex FPSC and FERC transmission and distribution regulatory dockets for Florida Power & Light Company (FPL), (e.g. managing project timelines for case preparation and filing, processing, and handling research and discovery, leading effective meetings, resolving regulatory issues, coordinating hearing prep, attending hearings, etc.).
  • Develop positive, trusting, and collaborative working relationships with Legal, Power Delivery and other Business Units to ensure regulatory requirements are satisfied.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills (verbal and particularly, written) and provide accurate, well-defined, and articulate research and docket summaries (may include filings, live agendas/hearings) on a timely basis.
  • Ability to multi-task, manage time effectively and maintain high performance in a dynamic environment, often with tight filing deadlines.
  • Strong dedication to understanding operational/engineering programs and completing assignments.
  • Willingness and ability to work extended hours when needed.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned.

Legislative or State and Federal Regulatory Commission (FERC) experiences are required for this role! Engineering experience is a plus! Experience with SharePoint, CaseWorks, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel are preferred. MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Job Overview

This position collaborates with different business units and involves familiarity with a variety of regulatory concepts, practices, and procedures.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinates regulatory filings and proceedings
  • Leads and plans docket team meetings, develops project timelines, reviews petitions and testimony, manages discovery, summarizes key milestones, and attends hearings
  • Summarizes and reports on changes in complex rates regulations and any expected impacts on the Company
  • Monitors state and national regulatory proceedings and provides timely summaries to leadership
  • Masters standard concepts, practices, and procedures of the state’s regulatory proceedings
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Bachelor’s or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience: 4 years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s - Accounting / Finance
  • Master’s Degree
