Position Specific Description
NextEra Energy is seeking a dynamic and experienced principal level business analyst to act as a technical product owner on the Smart Grid Product Solutions team.
In this pivotal role, you will serve as a dedicated product manager for applications and services interfacing with the Florida Power & Light’s (FPL) Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) head end system and associated capabilities, driving cross-functional value streams.
Your mission will be to drive the evolution of AMI product suite functions and value proposition ranging from meter-to-cash, remote connect disconnect, network monitoring, meter operations, asset management, cybersecurity, and the next generation of smart grid capabilities.
Job Overview: This role crosses over the product portfolio with responsibilities including driving agility and a product-based mindset, resource management, procurement management, process documentation, compliance, and financial management. Strategic Planning:
- Drive the development and execution of quality and reliable product solutions delivering tangible business value.
- Develop and maintain a product vision and strategic roadmap that aligns with organizational goals.
- Clearly define data goals, value, and vision to guide decision-making and prioritization.
- Integrate technical knowledge and experience in AWS full stack development, Advanced Meter Infrastructure (AMI), and AWS platforms into strategic planning.
- Act as a bridge between engineers, analytics, and other data consumers to foster cross-functional collaboration.
- Align internal and external stakeholders with a cohesive plan.
- Serve as a liaison between business units, product owners, technical leaders, and agile teams to facilitate best practices.
- Lead the execution of statements of work and purchase orders in collaboration with Release Train Engineers (RTEs) and vendors.
- Foster and manage relationships with vendors to ensure effective partnership and delivery of services.
- Oversee third-party technical and outsourcing relationships to maintain operational excellence.
- Identify and implement process and work automation opportunities to drive efficiency.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for selected project frameworks.
- Collaborate with business and IT teams to develop process maps and integrate onshore and offshore resources.
- Business case planning, budgeting, and financial management for multiple projects and products.
- Manage the AMI product portfolio cloud FinOps architecture to ensure cost optimization.
- Ensure agile teams prioritize and follow defined AMI DevSecOps practices.
- Leverage AWS technologies for scalable and efficient solutions.
- Prioritize L3 incidents with business partners in backlog refinement, sprint, and PI planning.
- Drive and manage change management processes within the product portfolio.
- Continuously monitor and adapt to market trends and technological advancements affecting the business domain.
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
- Proficient in Confluence, Jira, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Experience with resource management, statements of work, technical workflow management, and process creation.
- Strong ability to identify patterns and define innovative solutions.
- Technical knowledge and experience with AWS full stack development, Advanced Meter Infrastructure, and AWS data platforms.
- Proven experience in product management or technical product ownership, particularly in AMI or related technologies.
- Strong knowledge of AMI head end systems, networks, and associated functionalities.
- Experience in business case planning, budgeting, and financial management.
- Technical experience with AWS full stack development and AWS platforms.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with IT and business product management teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to lead incident management.
- Excellent communication skills to act as the liaison between multiple stakeholders.
