What are the responsibilities and job description for the Retail Sales Representative position at Florida Regional Distributor?
This job will entail direct sales and account management, including but not limited to procuring and driving new business, as well as growing existing relationships with retail customers (Supermarkets). The Sales Reps (SRs) generate sales by following daily scheduled visits of each customers on the route. They rotate and stock products on shelves and displays, in coolers, and in customers' backrooms. They build displays and set up promotional materials such as pricing signs and banners. They frequently interact with store management.
This position is labor intensive and requires lifting, loading, pushing and pulling cases weighing from 1.5-50 pounds per case repeatedly over 8 hour work period. The position requires bending, reaching, and squatting while merchandising and moving product. The position may include Saturday work.
Responsibilities:
· Consistently serve current customers within a designated route
· Initiate new account relationships within the route
· Assist customers in managing their product inventory
· Reinforce customer's utilization of current promotions, displays, and marketing tools
· Merchandising of product within customer locations
· Optimize distribution within the designated route and secure high value retail space for our products
· Achieve monthly key performance indicators (KPI‘s) in: sales, display, new accounts, and merchandising
· Bring a sense of commitment and urgency along with the desire to get things done
· Maintain a high level of communication across the team
· Protect and continue to build the company's brands
· In charge of route operational/sales activity, including ordering and distribution, merchandising, promotional activity, holiday planning, and meeting customer expectations.
· Continuously communicate with customers and consumers to assist them in understanding promotional activities, delivery expectations and growth opportunities.
· Ensure product distribution is accomplished to customer satisfaction.
· Support new product introduction, chain relations, space & position gains, and solicit potential new business.
Requirements:
· High School Diploma or GED required
· 3 years of past sales experience - similar industry preferred
· Self-disciplined
· Goal and detail oriented
· Valid & clean driver’s license
· Speak, hear, and understand instructions
· Frequently transition between walking and sitting positions
· Occasionally stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
· Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
· Use specific vision abilities including: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
· Work with or near moving mechanical parts, moderate to loud noise, outside weather conditions, and/or extreme temperatures
· Adaptable and quick to learn new processes and tools.
· Have a “whatever it takes” attitude.
· A track record of performance meeting targets and objectives.
· Self-directed, goal-oriented and flexible, enjoying working in a fast-paced and at times challenging environment.
· Ability to work cross-functionally and with a wide range of employees with different skill sets.
· Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (written and verbal).
