As we continue to grow, we are looking for a talented and highly organized Production Coordinator to oversee the smooth execution of our projects from start to finish.
Responsibilities
The Production Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day roofing field operations by managing the deployment of labor and scheduling all production to ensure the timely completion of roofing projects. They will coordinate with field employees, vendors, subcontractors, and other trades, as well as serve as the key point of contact between the production team and office/sales staff. This position requires excellent communication and organization skills, along with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Bilingual (English/Spanish) and prior experience overseeing construction production or scheduling for construction related companies is highly recommended.
Production Support
- Schedule and direct all field staff, including roofers, laborers, and subcontractors, ensuring all relevant parties are supplied with project information and fulfilling production schedule.
- Field Team support, provide office or backend support to field and production employees by assisting in permit preparation, job kickoff information, and resource allocation for project needs.
- Assist in resolving on-site issues through collaboration with the Field Management team to ensure a smooth workflow to maintain project deadlines and budgets..
Scheduling
- Manage and maintain the overall production schedule, ensuring timely completion of jobs while managing resources effectively.
- Schedule and coordinate jobs, including roofing installations, repairs, and maintenance, ensuring no overlap or delays.
- Adjust schedules as needed based on weather conditions, material availability, and other factors.
Vendor and Trade Coordination
- Schedule and manage third-party vendors and additional trades involved in roofing projects (e.g., electricians, painters).
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors and subcontractors, ensuring timely deliveries and quality of service.
Liaison Between Production and Office
- Communicate effectively between the field team and office staff, ensuring a clear flow of information regarding project status, labor needs, and timelines.
- Provide regular updates on project progress, labor availability, and any challenges or changes.
- Work closely with the office to ensure smooth project billing, customer communication, and compliance with regulations.
Problem Solving & Reporting
- Troubleshoot any issues that arise in the field, from labor shortages to material delays.
- Maintain accurate records of project activities, including labor hours, material usage, and progress updates.
- Ensure all job-related documentation is up to date and submitted to the office in a timely manner.
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a production, construction, or field management role, preferably in the roofing industry.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
- Excellent organization and communication skills, with the ability to manage the schedules of a team and overall production of the company.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of roofing materials, techniques, and safety standards is a plus.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) is required.
- Ability to work flexible hours and weekends when needed.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, project management software, and scheduling tools.
Working Conditions & Requirements:
- Full time field management - most time will be spent on a jobsite or running materials as needed.
- Working in hot and humid climate conditions.
- Must be comfortable walking on elevated and pitched roofing surfaces.
- Must be able to climb a ladder.
- Must have the ability to occasionally lift 50 lbs.
- Must be open to in-state travel, requiring overnight stays. Depending on location, travel could be up to 50-75%.
