We are seeking a skilled Litigation Associate to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have commercial litigation experience and will spend their time going to trial.
Job Description:
As a Commercial Litigator, you will manage a wide variety of complex commercial disputes, providing strategic counsel to clients and representing them in legal proceedings. You will take ownership of cases, from initial consultation through trial and, if necessary, appeal. This role requires excellent litigation skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to independently manage high-profile cases while maintaining strict confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all phases of complex commercial litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motions, and trial.
- Draft and argue motions such as summary judgment motions, motions to dismiss, and others as required.
- Conduct depositions, prepare witnesses, and handle discovery.
- Develop and execute comprehensive legal strategies to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
- Provide legal counsel and advice to clients on litigation risks and potential outcomes.
- Collaborate with both internal and external legal teams to prepare for trials and appeals.
- Participate in settlement negotiations, mediations, and arbitrations.
- Maintain confidentiality in all dealings and ensure client privacy and discretion.
- Stay current with legal developments and industry trends relevant to commercial litigation.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in your state
- Minimum 2 years of experience in commercial litigation, including trial experience.
- Strong oral and written advocacy skills.
- Ability to handle a complex and confidential caseload with minimal supervision.
- Proven ability to manage multiple cases and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a strategic mindset.
- Experience with alternative dispute resolution (ADR) methods is preferred.
- Demonstrated discretion and ability to maintain strict client confidentiality.
