What are the responsibilities and job description for the PRN Preop PACU RN position at Florida Urology Center?
About the Role
Assists in the daily clinical operations of the Preop/PACU in accordance with established federal, state and accreditation standards and facility policies and procedures. Participates in direct patient care including maintaining a clean, orderly and safe environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Exhibit a high degree of maturity, integrity, loyalty, creativity, and strict confidentiality with HIPPA compliance in all daily tasks.
- Assesses patient/significant others understanding of disease process and need for surgical intervention
- Provides safe medication administration
- Manages patient complications/emergencies preoperatively and postoperatively
- Manages and documents-controlled substance inventory
- Utilizes aseptic technique and infection control principles to establish and maintain intravenous access
- Reports significant patient information to medical staff appropriately
- Documents patient response during postoperative period
What We Expect From You
Required
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing
- Current RN license
PREFERRED ADDITIONAL
- Two (2) years of clinical experience with an emphasis in PACU, surgery or ER
- Ambulatory surgery center experience
- Knowledge of regulatory standards
- Electronic Medical Record Experience
- BLS
