POSITION SUMMARY:
The Payroll Processor supports payroll and benefits functions, including processing payroll, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. This role works closely with HR and Finance to ensure accurate reporting and employee support.

Payroll Processing
- Process payroll for temp and hourly employees, ensuring accurate and timely payments.
- Validate payroll data including tax rates, deductions, and benefits contributions.
Attendance & Accrual Management
- Track employee attendance and manage accruals.
- Resolve discrepancies in attendance records and accrual balances.
Garnishments & Compliance
- Process garnishments and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Data Entry
- Accurately enter personnel action forms and purchase requisitions.
Audit & Reporting
- Assist with payroll audits and generate reports to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Employee Support
- Address payroll inquiries from employees and resolve issues efficiently.
COMPETENCIES:
Technical Expertise:
- Knowledge of payroll processes, garnishment regulations, and related compliance.
- Proficiency in payroll systems (UKG Pro preferred) and Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
Critical Thinking:
- Identify discrepancies in payroll and resolve them effectively.
Time Management:
- Meet payroll deadlines while handling multiple tasks efficiently.
- Prioritize tasks to ensure payroll processing is completed on time.
Problem-Solving:
- Proactively address and resolve payroll-related issues such as tax discrepancies, garnishments, or benefit mismatches.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with HR, Finance, and other departments to ensure smooth payroll operations.
- Partner with other teams to manage attendance tracking, accruals, and audits.
Ethical Integrity:
- Maintain confidentiality of payroll data and employee information.
- Ensure compliance with payroll policies and legal regulations.
Sustainability and Inclusion Awareness:
- Align payroll and benefits processes with sustainability goals.
- Address diverse employee needs.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Experience: 0-3 years of experience in payroll processing or a related administrative role.
- Experience with payroll software (UKG Pro preferred) or other HR systems is a plus.
- Basic understanding of payroll tax compliance, deductions, and garnishments.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
