We are seeking a dedicated Payroll Processor to join our team in Clarksville, TN. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills in payroll processing and a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
Position Summary:
The Payroll Processor is responsible for handling payroll functions, including processing payroll for hourly and temporary employees, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting employees with payroll-related inquiries. This role collaborates with HR and Finance to ensure accurate and efficient payroll operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll Processing: Process payroll for temporary and hourly employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Validate payroll data, including tax rates, deductions, and benefits contributions.
- Attendance & Accrual Management: Track employee attendance and manage accrual balances. Resolve discrepancies in attendance records.
- Garnishments & Compliance: Process garnishments and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Data Entry: Accurately enter personnel action forms and purchase requisitions.
- Audit & Reporting: Assist with payroll audits and generate compliance reports.
- Employee Support: Address payroll inquiries from employees and resolve issues efficiently.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate payroll processes for efficiency and compliance. Implement improvements to streamline operations and maintain best practices.
- Collaboration: Work closely with HR, Finance, and other departments to ensure smooth payroll and benefits data integration. Communicate effectively across teams to address issues and ensure accuracy.
- System Management: Maintain and manage payroll data in the company’s HRIS or payroll software system (e.g., UKG Pro). Regularly update employee records and ensure system accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field, or relevant experience in accounting, payroll processing, and benefits administration.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of payroll systems, benefits administration, and accounting principles. Proven ability to manage complex payroll systems and multi-state payroll processing.
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Experience with payroll software (e.g., UKG Pro) is a plus.
- Compliance Knowledge: Knowledge of compliance laws including FMLA, ADA, and HIPAA.
