Role Description
This full-time on-site role is located in Mt. Joy, PA. The Senior Pastor will be responsible for leading worship services, providing spiritual leadership, and offering pastoral care to the congregation. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and delivering sermons, leading Bible studies, and overseeing discipleship programs. The Senior Pastor will also participate in church events, provide counseling to members, and coordinate with church staff and leadership.

In general, we are looking for candidates who meet the qualifications found in 1 Timothy 3: 1-7.

Spiritual Leadership
· Prepare and deliver Christ-centered, Bible-based, expository preaching and teaching to the church during Sunday services and other events as scheduled.
· Collaborate with ministerial staff and worship teams to present a coordinated and cohesive, spiritual, and meaningful, overall weekly message.
· Ensure the preparation of Bible studies and other teachings are biblically sound and relevant to our congregation.
· Ensure that ministerial activities within the church are aligned with the church’s overall goals for spiritual and physical growth, the church’s mission and vision.
Pastoral Care
· Provide spiritual guidance and counseling to congregational members and others in the community, in collaboration with ministerial staff and lay leaders.
· Actively participate with ministerial staff and lay leaders in visits to hospitals, nursing homes, and in individual homes, offering prayers and support, providing comfort and spiritual care.
· Promote and foster a sense of broader community within the congregation and encourage and support outreach efforts to the wider community.
Administrative Duties
· Oversee and coordinate ministerial staff, including other pastors or ministers, ministry coordinators, and church staff.
· Meet with lay leadership, Elders, Deacons, and others – assisting them with agendas, planning, and execution of their responsibilities to the church.
· Regularly hold staff meetings to pray together for the work of the church, coordinate schedules and activities, and communicate with one another.
· Ensure full compliance with church policies and procedures, the by-laws, and any denominational requirements that apply.
Job Qualifications
· A degree from a recognized evangelical seminary. No level of degree has been established but it is anticipated that the selected candidate would, if not currently, seek ordination and/or credentialing and other advancement of knowledge and abilities.
· Experience in a pastoral ministry role that demonstrates the other required qualifications.
· Personable and articulate.
· Love Jesus and love others.
· Devoted to prayer, scripture reading, and other spiritual disciplines.
