What are the responsibilities and job description for the Experienced Scratch Baker position at Flour Child Bakery?
We're looking for another passionate, experienced baker to join our team full-time (35-40 hrs). Shift is 6:00am to 2:00pm(ish) 5 days a week (Saturdays required; always off on Sundays). Commercial Kitchen Experience is required. We need someone who LOVES to bake from scratch, knows how to work in a busy kitchen, and has a strong attention to detail... We offer competitive pay, plus shared tips and paid birthdays off.
Responsibilities include...
- Opening the bakery in the morning
- Mixing and baking ingredients (using weight measurements/digital scales) to produce scones, cookies, brownies, pies, cakes, cupcakes, frostings, and other desserts from scratch (no mixes used)
- Keeping the display cases stocked, clean and organized using the FIFO method
- Checking products for quality and identifying damaged or expired baked goods
- Contributing to menu development and bringing new recipe ideas to the table
- Greeting customers with a friendly attitude, packaging desserts to-go, and ringing up sales
- Answering phones and taking cake orders
- Washing dishes and keeping the kitchen clean and organized
- Keeping track of inventory and supplies
- Occasionally helping to deliver/setup wedding cakes
- Must have some commercial kitchen experience
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be able to stand for 8 hours
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds

Pay: From $15.50 per hour
