Studio Instructor PT
Flour Power Kid’s Cooking Studios: Mesa-Gilbert is looking to hire part-time instructors for the studio located at the Mesa Grand Shopping Center (Stapley/US60)! Our instructors lead birthday parties, cooking classes, events, and camps. While professional cooking experience is not required, confidence and competence in the kitchen is essential as well as the enjoyment of working with children. Experience leading and facilitating children's Birthday parties is preferred. Must be flexible to work weekends, weekday mornings and evenings. Pay commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading demonstrations and following lesson plans for all ages and events including; Birthday parties, special events, weekly classes, and holiday/school break camps, independently at times
- Working patiently and hands-on with children and adults
- Delivering a fun and positive experience for children & adults
- Ensuring a safe and clean environment before, during and after all classes/events
- Setting-up and cleaning-up kitchens and work tables prior to and after each class/event
- Keeping strong control of the learning environment at all times
- Collaborating with the Flour Power Mesa-Gilbert team of instructors and providing thought suggestions to improve the customer experience
- Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Experiencing delivering educational or venues or experiences or content to children and/or adults
- Experience cooking and baking in a commercial environment
- Experience working at venues leading or facilitating Birthday parties is preferred
- Ability to be on your feet and walking around the room for multiple hours at a time
- A strong desire to work with children and adults in a teaching environment
- Ability to ensure the delivery of a superior level of customer service, effectively communicating and resolving concerns.
- Ability to work and function in a team environment
- Strong ability to read and follow direction to demonstrate lessons
- Possess an energetic, outgoing, positive attitude with other staff members and customers
- Highly motivated, self-driven with the ability to work independently and hands-on with individuals of all ages
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task, keep on task, and highly skilled in time-management
- Flexibility to work day, evening and/or weekend hours as needed. Strongly prefer candidates with the ability to work Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
- Reliable transportation and on time arrival for each shift
Experience:
- 2 years cooking experience (can be in home)
- 2 years working with children (strongly preferred)
- 2 years experience in commercial kitchens cooking and/or baking (preferred)
Candidates that this position best aligns with:
- Ability to work part-time without a dedicated number of hours per week. Shifts are scheduled as needed and employees can opt into shifts they can work. This position will have some standard weekday hours needed.
