Position: Phlebotomist/ Medical Assistant
Status: Full-Time (32-40hrs/week)
Pay: $18-$25/hour
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Phlebotomist Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist nurses and medical staff in performing phlebotomy procedures and providing general support to ensure smooth patient care operations. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a focus on maintaining patient comfort during blood draws.
Flourish is a functional wellness clinic and birth center and seeks to actively practice “root cause medicine”, empower and educate their clients and cultivate a community of health, wellness, and belonging. The ideal candidate is a phlebotomist with at least one year of experience who is passionate about root cause medicine in an out of hospital setting.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a phlebotomy training program required.
- Certifications: Phlebotomy certification (CPT)
- Experience: Previous experience as a phlebotomist in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- BLS certified

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Phlebotomy Procedures: Perform venipuncture, capillary, and other blood collection techniques accurately and efficiently while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Patient Care Support: Prepare patients for blood draws, explaining procedures to reduce anxiety and ensuring a positive experience.
- Sample Handling: Properly label, process, and package blood samples for the laboratory for testing.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records, documenting all blood draws and other relevant clinical information in the patient’s chart.
- Lab Reports: monitor fax and EMR task notifications for lab reports and upload to correct patient chart, collaborate/notify providers.
- Safety: Follow protocols and adhere to safety guidelines when handling needles, blood samples, and other medical equipment.
- Assist Nurses & Medical Staff: Support nurses in general patient care, including monitoring vital signs, and preparing patients for examinations and procedures.
- Patient Education: Provide basic education to patients regarding procedures, post-procedure care, and any special instructions related to lab testing.
- Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining an adequate inventory of phlebotomy supplies and ensure proper storage and handling of equipment.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the nursing team to ensure the smooth and effective operation and ensure high levels of patient satisfaction.
