The Hydraulics Technician will be key in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial hydraulic systems and components. This position requires expertise in diagnosing and troubleshooting industrial hydraulic circuits, rebuilding hydraulic pumps and valves, as well as experience fabricating hydraulic power units (HPUs) and other custom hydraulic products. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience with hydraulic systems, a deep understanding of troubleshooting techniques, and the ability to perform advanced repairs and custom fabrication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and diagnose industrial hydraulic circuit issues, identifying problems within components such as pumps, valves, actuators, motors, and cylinders.
- Disassemble, inspect, repair, and rebuild hydraulic pumps, valves, actuators, and other related components to ensure functionality and quality.
- Fabricate, assemble, and test hydraulic power units (HPUs) and other custom hydraulic products to meet customer specifications and performance standards.
- Perform in-depth maintenance and repair work on industrial hydraulic systems, including those in high-demand environments like manufacturing plants, construction sites, and mobile equipment.
- Read and interpret hydraulic schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to understand system layout and diagnose issues accurately.
- Perform system flushing, filtration, and testing to ensure components and circuits are working within proper operational parameters.
- Install and commission hydraulic systems and components on-site, ensuring full functionality upon delivery.
- Collaborate with engineers and other team members to develop custom hydraulic solutions for specific applications and unique customer needs.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work completed, including repair logs, service reports, and inventory management of parts.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and industry standards, including proper use of PPE and adherence to OSHA and other regulatory guidelines.
- Identify and recommend improvements to processes, tools, and equipment to enhance performance, efficiency, and safety.
- Assist with inventory control by managing and sourcing hydraulic parts and components for projects and repairs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all tools and equipment are in good working condition.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, associate’s degree in Hydraulics or Mechanical field preferred.
- Or a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience working with industrial hydraulic systems, pumps, valves, and power units.
- Knowledge of hydraulic principles, troubleshooting techniques, and repair procedures for pumps, valves, actuators, and other hydraulic components.
- Good fabrication skills, with experience building custom hydraulic power units (HPUs) and specialized hydraulic systems. Welding experience is a plus.
- Experience in using hydraulic test equipment, including pressure gauges, flow meters, and diagnostic tools.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Experience with ERP systems, particularly P21 is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
- Knowledge of PLCs and other electronic equipment, also preferred.

- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Capability to work in various environments, including industrial settings and outdoor locations.
- Comfortable with standing, kneeling, and bending for extended periods during repairs and installations.
