Role Description

Flow-Rite’s Engineering Manager will oversee a team of manufacturing engineers and toolmakers, guiding the development and implementation of manufacturing processes. This role includes supervising toolmakers in mold construction and coordinating with external mold-building companies. The ideal candidate should possess a solid understanding of manufacturing principles and processes, along with proven experience in team management and leadership. This is a full-time on-site role for an Engineering Manager at Flow-Rite Controls.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement manufacturing processes with the team for new and existing products
  • Explore new manufacturing technologies and advise on potential use of technologies
  • Supervise the tool makers building molds and ensure that all work is performed accurately and according to quality and safety standards, while meeting tooling build deadlines.
  • Manage external mold build companies and ensure that molds are built to specifications and delivered on time.
  • Provide quotations for internally built new tooling, modifications, and repairs
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice tool room vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.
  • Direct and plan activities of the tool room facilities and toolmakers, ensuring the tool room is a safe environment in line with health, safety, and environmental requirements
  • Identify and implement cost-saving measures
  • Implement budget for investment of new equipment and drive these investments
  • Develop, implement, and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for each area of responsibility
  • Identify and deploy the technical skill sets, resource levels and systems to deliver projects, including the engagement of external resources as required
  • Mentor or serve as a resource to share specialized knowledge with team members.
  • Participate or lead design reviews with internal teams or customers.
  • Define individual accountability and milestones to meet project objectives.
  • Plan, prioritize, and determine resources to accomplish project milestones and objectives.


Qualifications

  • Engineering Management and Team Leadership skills
  • Project Management abilities
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Technical understanding of mold design and tool room equipment
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
  • 7 years of experience in Engineering, including at least 5 years of management experience.
