Machinist Programmer/Operator
Job Summary:
As a Machinist you will play a crucial role in the manufacturing process, responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining various machine tools to produce precision components. You will work with a wide range of materials, such as metal, plastic and composite, following blueprints, specifications, and engineering drawings to fabricate parts with accuracy and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program and edit using conversational and CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software to execute complex machining operations with high precision.
- Prepare and set up machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and CNC machines, according to job specifications and work instructions.
- Operate machine tools to cut, shape, and finish metal and other materials to precise dimensions, using various cutting tools, fixtures, and techniques.
- Inspect machined parts using precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges, to ensure they meet dimensional tolerances and quality standards.
- and replacing worn or damaged components to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of hazardous materials.
- Maintain accurate records of production activities, including job setups, tool changes, machine maintenance, and quality inspection results.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational training or certification in machining or related field is preferred.
· Proven experience as a machinist or machine operator in a manufacturing environment, with proficiency in manual and CNC machining techniques.
· Attention to detail and precision, with a commitment to producing high-quality workmanship and meeting tight tolerances.
· Experience and familiarity with CNC/Manual Mill and Lathe. Programming and machining automation is advantageous. Ability to write/modify CNC programs.
· Ability to hold a tolerance of 0.001” in some parts.
· Experience with aluminum, 300 series stainless and plastics.
· Experience with polishing to a fine finish on stainless and aluminum.
· Availability to work during regular work hours, with flexibility for overtime.
Full-time, permanent position. Salary dependent on experience.
