Start Date: ASAP
Schedule: Full-time with off-season hours (October-May) typically M-F, 9 AM-5 PM. High season (May-October) requires flexibility for overtime, weekends, and event support.
Compensation: $40-45/hour

A welcoming and professional family team is seeking an experienced and polished Head of Housekeeping to lead and manage the daily operations of a private household housekeeping team across four family properties. This role is pivotal in supporting this busy and professional household by fostering communication, ensuring smooth workflows and contributing to an environment of excellence in cleanliness and household management while maintaining the utmost discretion and professionalism.
The ideal candidate will be highly experienced in private home management, service-oriented with excellent housekeeping and supervisory skills, an excellent communicator, respectful, trustworthy, personable, punctual, proactive, and highly professional. This role requires the ability to adapt to varying needs, remain on-call for emergencies, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, particularly during the busy summer months when the family’s schedule becomes more dynamic.

- Properly estimate staffing needs and delegate schedules, duties, and workload requirements to all housekeeping personnel.
- Ensure all personnel are trained on and understand proper cleaning techniques and equipment use.
- Conduct regular inspections of all areas to ensure a high standard of cleanliness is maintained at all times.
- Interview and train new housekeeping personnel, oversee ongoing training, and provide consistent feedback to personnel.
- Participate in cleaning projects as necessary for timely completion.
- Collaborating with the Facilities Manager, coordinate with contractors on construction projects for timely clean-up and completion.
- Procure and maintain household supplies, ensuring adequate levels of supplies at all times for multiple properties.
- Collaborate with the Director of Residences to coordinate and assist in planning and preparation of special events.
- Collaborating with the Facilities Manager, organize, and keep clean the family warehouse.
- Properly deliver family mail, from all properties, to the head of household’s Executive Assistant.
- Participate in other ad hoc projects as needed by the head of the household or her personal assistant.
Requirements:
- 5 years of experience in a similar role as a Housekeeper, Head of Housekeeping, or House Manager.
- Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, including maintaining high-end artwork, silver, and other valuable items.
- Exceptional organizational and supervisory skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Basic knowledge of property maintenance and the ability to maintain records and warranties.
- Professional, respectful demeanor with the ability to work discreetly and maintain confidentiality (NDA required).
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
- Physical stamina for hands-on housekeeping and lifting objects up to 35 lbs.
- Comfort around pets, as the family has a small, friendly dog.
- Flexibility to accommodate a dynamic schedule, particularly during the busy summer season.
- Willing to make a long-term commitment to the family.
