What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full-time Floral Designer / Customer Service position at FLOWERAMA?
Job Summary:
Adhering to the Flowerama mission statement by providing excellent customer service to Flowerama customers, first by understanding their needs are emotional, then by respecting the occasion for which they are shopping, assisting with product selection, making product recommendations, and providing fast efficient service to ensure they will become a loyal Flowerama patron, and adhering to the Flowerama Way of general production and design. The Windsor Heights Flowerama is seeking both full and part-time floral designers for day, evening, and weekend shifts. Please don't apply if you don't have related experience for this specific job. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule in a fast-paced, creative environment. We are open Monday through Sunday and most holidays.
Essential Job Functions/Job Requirements:
Lift and move items up to 30 lbs.
- Stand for [up to] 10 hours per day
- Use knives, shears, and other required floral tools on a consistent, daily basis.
- Work in temperatures as low as 32°F (walk-in cooler)
- Work in seasonal temperature and weather fluctuations (outside merchandising and product care)
- Design funeral, wedding and novelty arrangements within the profit margin guidelines
- Keep dumpage and product waste to a minimum by utilizing all usable fresh product
- Complete required production of fresh flowers as needed
- Perform daily production as needed
- Accurately complete all required paperwork
- Maintain good housekeeping practices
- Serve customers who need novelty and design work completed
- Write legibly
- Service all customers promptly and respectfully
- Have a strong command of the English language
- Maintain a neat appearance consistent with the Flowerama Dress Code Policy
Other Job Functions:
Vacuum, mop, take out the garbage, and perform other general housekeeping functions
- Operate cash register
- Handle, and count customer change
- Adhere to the Flowerama Cash Control Procedures
- Count and completing daily deposits
- Process delivery tickets and/or organize deliveries
- Learn and retain information regarding fresh flower, blooming plant and green plant care
- Maintain perishable product on a daily basis or as scheduled
- Check-in, inventory, and stock freight
- Complete any other tasks as required by management
