Flowers Early Learning is a high-quality preschool located across Berrien, Cass, and Van Buren County. We are looking for a Bus Monitor, serving classrooms in Mattawan, Michigan with children ages 3-5. The home base for this location is located at the HSO Administration Building in Paw Paw, MI.

Position Summary: The Bus Monitor assures compliance with Head Start policies and procedures, Performance Standards, Licensing Rules for Child Care Centers. Assists the Driver in providing safe transportation for authorized passengers. Reports to the assigned bus prior to the route, rides the bus during the route, completes route paperwork, assures children are buckled in correctly and safely, attends to passenger behavior and assists in ensuring a positive social climate.
Job Type: Full-Time, Program Year, Non-Exempt/ Hourly
Expected Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week, Split Shift, starting a 6:45 am-10:00 am, off from 10:00 am -12:00 pm, and continue from 12:00 pm-4:45 pm.
Rate of Pay: HS/GED: $15.50 /hour Credential CDL-S: $15.93 /hour AA: $17.08 /hour AA with CDL-S $17.84
Education Requirement: High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or Head Start parent with 1 year experience working with young children.
Desired – CDL with passenger and “s” endorsement or willing to obtain CDL with passenger and “s” endorsement within 3 years of hire and reimbursed upon completion.
Other Selection Criteria: All candidates must be over the age of 18-years-old for licensing, must complete a pre-employment drug screen, physical examination, and comprehensive fingerprinted criminal background check, and possess a valid driver’s license and/or reliable transportation.
