What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2024 STEAM ACADEMY SUMMER CAMP ROBOTICS/CODING TEACHER position at FLOWERS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL?
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current Alabama Teacher’s Certification, bachelor’s degree or higher with an endorsement in general elementary
- Three (3) years of successful certified teaching Experience as an afterschool robotics coach and/or innovated classroom instruction is strongly preferred.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Robotics/Coding teacher will develop and implement reading, math, and robotics education into the summer academy. The ideal candidate for this position recognizes, understands, and believes in the critical role robotics and coding disciplines play in a successful future for our students and community. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares and delivers high-quality, introductory courses in reading, math, robotics, coding, and leading STEM instruction for elementary students by creating lesson plans that are culturally relevant for a diverse student population.
- Provide instruction on Internet and web-related technology.
- Be a role model/mentor, promoting well-being, development, confidence, and success; motivate and inspire all to be active students in STEM activities, encouraging their long-term involvement.
- Provide students with instruction on VEX Robotics (VEX 123 and VEX GO), Ozobots, Dash Bots, Coding.org., etc.
- Designs and adapts curriculum for students in a fun, interactive, and empowering learning
- Ability to organize effectively (STEM and PBL projects)
- Willing to attend paid training sessions to prepare for the summer program
- Additional duties may be assigned
SALARY: $50/hour
FUND SOURCE: ESSER Funds
WORK TERM: May 28, 2024- June 27, 2024 (7:30a.m.- 12:45 p.m.)
