What are the responsibilities and job description for the Herbicide Spray Technician position at Flowerwood Nursery?
Reports to: Herbicide Manager
Non-Exempt
Job Summary: This position performs chemical spraying to support weed, disease, and pest control to provide quality grown plants to our customers.
Job Responsibilities:
· Mix chemicals in a precise and safe manner
· Maintain a clean and safe work area, particularly in chemical mixing areas
· Operate spray equipment including carts, tractors, spray pumps, and spray backpacks
· Complete spray paperwork
· Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
· Must be able to lift 50 lbs. (herbicide sack weight)
· Prior nursery and/or spray experience is a plus
· Must be able to read and understand instructions and safety information on SDS sheets for the chemicals being used.
· Must be able to stand and walk for long periods outdoors and in variable weather conditions.
· Good communication skills and ability to follow written and verbal directions.
Work Environment:
Outside – exposed to very cold and very hot temperatures.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $16.08 per hour
