Job Summary: This position is responsible for maximizing the efficiency of the receiving process and oversight of the receiving team. Communication and timely planning is essential for a smooth and efficient process.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.
· Meet daily with Receiving Supervisor to discuss the plant materials being bought or transferred and timing of those deliveries.
· Inform supervisor of truck arrivals and complete necessary paperwork including buy-in app submission (if applicable.) This should be completed by the time the truck is fully unloaded.
· Supervise and assist the receiving team unloading product.
· Ensure bedspace is ready - plants consolidated, area treated, stringline in place, etc.
· Ensure all cross-dock product is organized and labeled correctly at the dock.
· Inspect plant quality as plants are unloaded and report poor quality.
· Move 18-wheeler trailers as needed.
· Ensure t-stakes are properly placed when product has been unloaded.
· Confirm and enter plant quantities, measurements, and pictures of inbound product into the buy-in app.
· Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
· Highschool Diploma or GED.
· Previous experience supervising employees and operating equipment such as tractor, forklifts, and 18-wheeler trucks preferred.
Competencies
· Strong understanding of receiving procedures.
· Strong leadership traits.
· Excellent interpersonal, communication and coaching skills; responsive and persuasive at all levels of the organization.
· Excellent organizational/time management skills, prioritization, and multi-tasking
abilities.
· Bilingual in Spanish/English is preferred
Physical Demands
· Occasionally lifts/pulls/carries up to 25 pounds.
· Frequently required to stand, sit, talk, and hear, and use hands to handle, or touch objects or controls.
· On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend, kneel, or reach above the shoulders.
· Operate typical office equipment such as a computer, telephone, copy machine, etc.
· Regular mental demands such as comprehension, reasoning, decision making, and strong math skills.

Working Environment
· Continuous outside in a nursery setting.
