McKenna is a subsidiary of FloWorks International LLC, which is a privately held company located in Pasadena, Texas.
The Application Engineer is responsible for the successful execution of all applications engineering as well as estimating and project engineering support on Systems Packages, and lite Project Management for fabrication and construction projects. Effectively working to ensure that all new applications, quotations, and projects under this category adhere to company ISO 9001 requirements. In addition, this position will support Customer Service.
Some of the exciting things you will do in this role...
Handle simple (factory) package orders for select product lines
Updating Principal discount sheets
Quoting, Order Entry Process, etc.
Review customer technical information – read specs, PO tech requirements etc.
Learn the specifics of air and gas equipment and the applicability of each.
Learn specific system requirements / considerations for designs handling compressible gasses.
Application engineering (i.e. blower sizing, what technology to use, etc.)
Work with Project Engineers to develop simple system designs and solid models in SolidWorks
Generate dimensioned drawings for construction/fabrication.
Develop project costing for System Packages
Spec out equipment (motors, instrumentation, valves, pipe sch, etc.) not specified by customer.
Fill out purchase orders for procurement
Lead/conduct/support negotiations with suppliers to obtain desired results.
Obtain submittal information from vendors and develop MEECO submittal packages.
Expedite vendors when required
Learn full P21 system Order Entry Process (from opening a job through final invoicing)
Learn the specifics of McKenna Engineering Packaged standards for accurate quotation, selection, design, and execution as well as communication to Outside Sales Team.
A must…
Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
Strong Applications Engineering Experience
Positive, patient and enthusiastic attitude to serve our customers
Strong work ethic and Ability to work with others
Strong decision-making capabilities
Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
Able and willing to travel for field work to perform assessments / job walks
Willing to travel to principal factories for specific training
Experience with Microsoft: Excel, Word, Power Point, PDF, etc.
