Machinist Role
The successful Machinist candidate will be proficient in the set-up and operation of manual lathes, with exposure to CNC technology. They will have extensive knowledge of the general manufacturing environment, including safety protocols, machine tolerances, precision tool grinding, ergonomics, and inspection equipment.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate manual lathes, with experience in CNC machining.
- Work safely and efficiently, maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Understand and operate machines, tooling, and measuring equipment properly and safely.
- Operate precision measuring equipment, working in both English and Metric systems.
- Lift large castings using jib and overhead cranes.
- Adequately complete all safety training and adhere to company policies.
Preferred Qualifications
- CNC Machinist/Programmer experience with EdgeCAM or similar CAM software programming knowledge.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints, geometric tolerances, and finishes during machining applications.
- Machinist certification, training, or degree related to machining is a plus.
- Experience in high mix, low volume manufacturing environments.
