We are seeking a skilled Pump Repair Mechanic to join our team at Flowserve in West Chicago, IL.
About the Role:
- This position is responsible for repairing and assembling pumps, working with team leads and other team members to execute work as provided on work instructions, routers, drawings, and checklists.
Key Responsibilities:
- Repair and assemble pumps using mechanical aptitude and precision measurement tools.
- Read prints and drawings to ensure accurate assembly of rotating equipment.
- Work safely and utilize Stop Work Authority when necessary to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Follow pre-job briefs and checklists before disassembly or assembly of pumps to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Use power and hand tools to assemble rotating equipment, including cranes, lifting devices, and fork trucks.
- Inspect and verify quality of finished work, ensuring it meets company standards and customer expectations.
- Communicate clearly with peers and supervisors about job issues, providing updates and requesting assistance as needed.
- Work efficiently within fixed time windows for each manufacturing process, meeting deadlines and delivering results.
- Develop new tools and hardware as part of Continuous Improvement projects, driving innovation and excellence.

Requirements:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- At least 3 years of rotational equipment experience is necessary, with a focus on pump repair and maintenance.
- The ability to read and interpret prints, shop drawings, assembly checklists, and written work instructions is crucial.
- Accurately setting up and reading precision measuring instruments is essential.
- Brief computer aptitude to learn data entry systems and Microsoft Word/Outlook is required.
- Verbal and written communication skills in English are necessary for effective collaboration and customer interaction.
- The ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 pounds is required for this physically demanding role.
- Experience working in a cross-functional team environment is valuable, with a customer-service mindset for on-time delivery and quality workmanship.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Advanced to expert-level repairing rotating equipment, with a focus on pump repair and maintenance.
- At least 3 years of experience in pump repair and maintenance is preferred.
