What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Superintendent position at Flowtec Group?
Our client is Commercial General Contractor, they focus on projects throughout Southeast Michigan and Detroit. They have a strong brand and reputation and have operated for over 30 years. The projects they work with are very diverse within Healthcare, Multifamily and additional Commercial projects.
Due to business growth, they are seeking an experienced Superintendent. The projects they work on are valued between $20- $50 million, and they are poised for continued growth due to their stability in leadership, brand recognition and repeat client rate.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily construction activities, ensuring that work is completed according to the schedule, quality standards, and safety regulations.
- Supervise and manage the work of construction workers and subcontractors while ensuring that personnel are effectively assigned and motivated to meet project goals.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols on the site to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards.
- Monitor construction quality and ensure that the work meets the project specifications and standards.
- Maintain the project schedule, coordinating with various trades and contractors to avoid delays and resolve scheduling conflicts.
- Assist with managing the project budget by overseeing the efficiency of labor and material costs.
- Ensure proper communication between all stakeholders, including project managers, architects, engineers, and vendors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a construction related field, preferred.
- 10 years of commercial GC experience, with a minimum of 3-5 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Some experience working in Construction Management is a plus.
- Experience working in construction within the Healthcare or Aviation sector.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and equipment.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Compensation & Benefit Information
- Salary between $120,000 - $140,000 dependent on experience
- 100% Employer Paid Healthcare, low premiums if dependents are added
- Yearly bonus, discretionary with a 10% average target
- Monthly Car Allowance, $600/month
