General Contractor in the Northern Chicago Suburbs looking for a CAD Technician to join a growing team with a backlog through 2027. This position will report to the Operations Manager and have the option of running the department or becoming a Project Manager if desired.
Responsibilities : Create and update CAD drawings for excavation, grading, and utility projects based on survey data and engineering plansPrepare earthwork models and volume computations for estimatingPerform site calibrations and base station setupsUtilize drone for existing conditions and progress documentationCreate site progress and as-built models utilizing drone and GPS technologyAnalyze progress / as-built models against construction models to determine earthwork quantitiesMaintain organized project files and data for easy access and revision controlCollaborate with project managers and estimators to ensure CAD drawings reflect project specifications and requirementsCreate quantity reports for submittal to ownersManage site survey equipment
Requirements : Minimum of 1-7 years construction experience with CAD / GPS softwareHeavy experience with highway / site projects, preferred.Preferred experience with : AGTEK Gradework / SiteworkTrimble GPS RoversTrimble GPS Machine ControlTrimble WorksmanagerTrimble Business CenterTrimble Status by PropellerAbility to multi-task and work independently is a must.
