General Contractor in the Northern Chicago Suburbs looking for a CAD Technician to join a growing team with a backlog through 2027. This position will report to the Operations Manager and have the option of running the department or becoming a Project Manager if desired.
Responsibilities :
- Create and update CAD drawings for excavation, grading, and utility projects based on survey data and engineering plans
- Prepare earthwork models and volume computations for estimating
- Perform site calibrations and base station setups
- Utilize drone for existing conditions and progress documentation
- Create site progress and as-built models utilizing drone and GPS technology
- Analyze progress / as-built models against construction models to determine earthwork quantities
- Maintain organized project files and data for easy access and revision control
- Collaborate with project managers and estimators to ensure CAD drawings reflect project specifications and requirements
- Create quantity reports for submittal to owners
- Manage site survey equipment
