What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pump Mechanic position at Flowtec Group?
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Come and join one of the best pump manufacturers in the country! We are looking for individuals that have a solid background in pumps and are looking for a role with excellent opportunity for growth. The Pump Mechanic will be responsible for disassembling, cleaning, inspecting, and rebuilding industrial pump assemblies. Work will primarily take place at the service facility, with occasional field assignments at customer locations as needed. As things progress, this individual will have the opportunity to progress into a lead mechanic / machinist position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform mechanical assembly, disassembly, and troubleshooting of industrial pumps and related equipment.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, and assembly/disassembly procedures.
- Maintain and operate various shop equipment, including forklifts, cranes, and machining tools.
- Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Document work completed and reported any non-conforming parts or issues to quality control.
- Assist with inventory management, labeling, and storage of components.
- Prepare and paint components before shipment according to specifications.
- Conduct failure analysis and provide condition reports on disassembled units.
- Operate machine shop equipment as needed for repair and refurbishment tasks.
- Perform basic welding and fabrication as required.
- Provide training and mentorship to new employees.
- Comply with company policies, productivity metrics, and operational procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree in machining or mechanics is a plus.
- 5-7 years of experience in mechanical repair, rotating equipment, or industrial maintenance.
- Familiarity with gearboxes, turbines, compressors, and various pump types.
- Basic understanding of vibration analysis and laser alignment.
- Willingness to travel for service calls, including extended assignments when needed.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools, as well as precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to read and interpret metric and imperial measurements.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 75 lbs.
- Occasional overhead work, ladder climbing, forklift operation, and crane use.
- Ability to wear a respirator when necessary
Salary : $58,000 - $70,000
