Athletic Business Manager

TITLE:                      Athletic Business Manager (New Position)

CLASSIFICATION:   Hourly (Non-exempt)

PAY GRADE 12:        $18.49 to $19.59 hourly (based on education and experience)

HOURS/DAY:           8 hours daily(Hours will vary based on event schedules and need)

LENGTH:                  200 to 260 days per year

REPORTS TO:           Athletic Director

SUMMARY: Assists the athletic department with various duties related to preparing, planning and running athletic events.

QUALIFICATIONS:  

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Applicants must have exceptional oral communication skills (listening, questioning, clarifying and responsiveness)
• Applicants must write clearly and informatively, able to read and interpret written information.
• Applicants must possess the ability to work in a team environment and create positive, cooperative and professional relationships.
• General knowledge of computers including email, word processing and work order software.
• This position requires the employee to drive corporation vehicles.  In accordance with Board policy an individual must be at least twenty-one (21) years old and have held a drivers license for at least three (3) years.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assists in preparation of all home athletic events.
• Prepares money boxes to include change for boxes which may require bank runs.
• Manages the ticket sales process.
• Ensure that the concession stands are stocked, staffing of workers and inventory requirements are met.
• Schedules workers and volunteers for ticket taking, concessions and other event duties.
• Manages the gates and doors at every home athletic event.
• Ensure staff/workers are assigned for home events.  Examples included but are not limited to:
• Football press box and chain gangs for the field and
• Scorers, clock workers for basketball games.
• Assists with season tickets to include ordering, communications and mailings.
• SALT Club Facilitator
• Host meetings for IHSAA leaders regarding opportunities for students (Champion Together)
• Manages the athletic social media accounts and website.
• Coordinates the signage for facilities and visitors.
• Assists the athletics office when the Athletic Director is unavailable.
• Invoices sponsors for banners/ads at various venues.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by Supervisor and/or other designee.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:   While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms.  The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the Corporation.
