TITLE: Counselor - Summer School
CLASSIFICATION: Certified
PAY RATE: Hourly Equivalent
REPORTS TO: Building Principal/Assistant Principal
LOCATION: Floyd Central High School
Dates: June 4 to June 20, 2024 - 40 hours maximum
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Education and/or Experience: Master’s Degree and IN School Counseling License certification in School Counseling.
- Other Skills and Abilities: Must have a working knowledge of computers and their capabilities. Must have a valid driver’s license.
RESPONSIBILIIES:
- Progressively monitors student academic achievement and utilizes the school-wide system of interventions.
- Makes contact to students and/or parents to ensure that students are meeting the graduation requirements.
- Creating a plan for students to successfully meet the graduation requirements.
- Counsels students and provides group educational and vocational guidance services.
- Refers students to social service agencies, special programs, and other available supports and resources.
- Utilizes, evaluates, and oversees the maintenance of an accurate cumulative record file for each student.
- Pursues and applies ongoing learning in this field.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Principal and/or other designee.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
