Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in construction project management and/or superintendent
- Experience with commercial construction, construction procedures, material
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
- Proven track record of successfully managing construction projects from start to finish and proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Excel).
- Valid driver’s license.
- OSHA 30-hour certification and Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations.
Performance competencies & responsibilities:
Contract Management
- Manage all contract modifications
- Develop proficiency in government contracts and processes
- Issue subcontracts, purchase orders, change orders and other necessary contract documents
Scheduling
- Proficient at creating a schedule and project critical path for entire project per FCC estimate, contract specifications and requirements
- Process supplier and material submittals for adherence to contract specifications and requirements for timely approval and procurement
Financial Acumen
- Estimate and analyze proposals and bids for cost accuracy and adherence
- Maintain project budget per the FCC estimate and review costs per division of work
- Review and negotiate subcontracts, purchase orders, change orders and other necessary contract documents for cost and scope accuracy
Communication
- Effective communication of project progress against FCC estimate with direct reports and trades
- Proficient at communicating all necessary aspects of the project
- Provide clear verbal and written communication regarding all job-related work
- Active listening/comprehension to effectively respond to job-related scenarios (FCC & Subcontractors)
Health & Safety Expertise
- Monitor and ensure on-site safety compliance, cleanliness, and job site organization
- Adhere to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards
- Complete OSHA 30 Certification
- Understand and maintain Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) guidelines
- Understand and maintain Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM)
Project & People Leadership
- Identify, analyze, prioritize and control all project-related risk
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with external partners (Subcontractors, Suppliers, etc.)
- Lead a team to work together and manage all on-site work and personnel (FCC & Subcontractors)
- Provide professional development and coaching for direct reports through timely, clear, direct and actionable feedback
- Attend all necessary Job Progress meetings
