Hours: Fulltime (1.0 FTE) – Day Shift: 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with 30-minute meal period Monday thru Friday
Description:
Position Overview: Responsible for receiving deliveries into the storeroom from various vendors, filling orders from facility departments, storage and distribution of a variety of materials, equipment and supplies. Maintains inventory in the Storeroom and other Periodic Automatic Replenishment (PAR) locations throughout the facility.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Procures approved medical and non-medical supplies and equipment.
- Accepts/receives all shipments to the hospital dock. Checks shipments of supplies and equipment received at the hospital. Ensures deliveries are received in acceptable condition.
- Maintains accuracy between quantities received, purchase orders and packing slips and notifies Materials Management Coordinator of discrepancies.
- Delivers supplies to appropriate departments in a timely manner.
- Determines proper destination of non-stock items received and ensures timely delivery to the appropriate department.
- Obtains appropriate signatures for all supplies delivered; files delivery document in appropriate place.
- Refers items to the Maintenance Department when necessary for assembly.
- Fills requisitions for supplies and maintains supplies in designated supply areas throughout the facility.
- Reviews stocked items and determines appropriate reorder quantities.
- Checks inventory regularly and removes outdated or obsolete items.
- Cleans storeroom shelving as needed.
- Keeps storeroom neat and organized.
- Maintains department’s cleanliness, sweeps up debris and cardboard from floors as needed. Discards cardboard into recycling containers.
- Participates in periodic inventory counts.
- Appropriately communicates to internal and external customers as required.
- Assists with training of new Materials Assistants as required.
- Assists Materials Management Coordinator with Quality Improvement (QI) projects as requested.
- Participates in meetings, committees, and medical center projects as assigned.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Education and/or Experience Required:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Hospital purchasing and/or inventory experience preferred.
Additional Qualifications:
- Must be able to read, speak, and write fluent English.
- Basic computer skills.
- Basic math skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Integrity and ability to work independently. Initiative to take on tasks without being told.
- Must possess strong attention to detail and meticulous care on the job.
