Job Summary
The Floyd County Schools is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our facilities department, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our school facilities and systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Electrical Maintenance & Repair: Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems, including lighting, wiring, circuit breakers, and other electrical components.
- General Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on school facilities, including HVAC systems, plumbing, and carpentry.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalency required.
- Completion of a formal electrician apprenticeship program or equivalent training is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an electrician, with demonstrated ability to perform general maintenance tasks.
- Valid electrician's license, per state and local requirements.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. CDL preferred or must be willing to obtain.
Working Conditions
The Maintenance Technician will work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to electrical systems, tools, and equipment. The ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in various environmental conditions is required.
This is a full-time position, with a salary range of $35,108 - $63,686, based on SY Salary Scales. Hourly rate to be determined based on experience.
