Responsibilities:
Floyd Family Orthodontics is a modern office with four locations in Molalla, Happy Valley, Gresham, and Oregon City and we are continuing to grow, so we are always looking for amazing orthodontic assistants to join to our team to work in our offices in the greater Portland area full time, 4 days per week to help us continue to serve our patients exceptionally well as we grow. The ideal candidate should have a dental assisting license, ideally an EFODA certification, and value how they treat people, including their team members and our patients, as their highest priority!

You will be responsible for the following:
- Greet and engage patients with respect and a smile.
- Ensure patients are well informed and comfortable - before, during, and after their appointment - about their treatment and oral health.
- Take and process dental radiographs, impressions and intraoral photos.
- Prepares and sterilizes treatment room and equipment.
- Provide chair-side assistance to Providers during treatment procedures.
- Documents orthodontic care services by charting in patients’ records.

Assist the orthodontist in assessing a patient's teeth and implementing a plan to
straighten them. -
Perform routine orthodontic duties, including cleaning and adjusting orthodontic
gear. - Maintain a clean, sterile, and patient-centric working environment.
Maintain strict compliance with State, Federal, and other regulations, (e.g, OSHA, WC, Dental Board, HIPAA, ADA, DOL, Employee Handbook).
Qualifications:
You will be required to possess the following:
- Six (6) or more months of practical experience as an orthodontic assistant.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Completion of a CODA-accredited dental assisting program (Preferred).
- Quick learner with problem solving skills
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality

Technical and troubleshooting skills for software applications used for charting, patient records,
scheduling, etc. -
Ability to demonstrate proficiency in fitting bands and brackets, tying in arch
wires and taking consistent, accurate impressions. - Desire and ability to learn new skills and be a team player.
- Commitment to being punctual and reporting to work on time.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the desire for professional growth.
- Be organized and possess a superior knowledge of dentistry and dental terminology.
