What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistics Coordinator position at FLS Transportation?

FLS Transportation is seeking a Logistics Coordinator for their Rome, GA office.

Responsibilities :

Negotiate with carriers to maximize profitability and improve efficiency by identifying ways to improve cost savings;
Schedule / Coordinate truck shipments and address any issues that come up during transit;
Audit and correct carrier freight invoices and BOLs as necessary for payment;
Dispatch drivers on each load with the responsibility to ensure drivers arrive to pick up without issues;
Develop and maintain an effective Carrier Program that leads to sales growth, quality carrier onboarding process, and improves soft pricing and rating knowledge and competencies across assigned geographic areas and freight types;
Perform daily sourcing activities, including targeting new carriers, negotiating and developing carrier rate,s and sourcing and selecting the most efficient carriers;
Develop and maintain effective Carrier relationships with FLS Core Carriers to include proper carrier capability profiling (60-80 calls / day minimum);
Maintain carrier database by keeping pricing and contact information current;
Leverage applications and TMS to maximize productivity in capacity planning, trip processing, and operational workflow;

Requirements :

Demonstrated ability to stay current and accurately interpret industry trends;

A genuine passion for sales and logistics - must be a self-starter, self-directed and highly motivated;

Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines;

Excellent customer service, communication, and computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, and data entry systems);

Ability to positively influence culture and behavior and work effectively with all levels within the company;
