What are the responsibilities and job description for the Area Financial Analyst- Healthcare position at Fltr New York?
The Financial Analyst is a fully remote position, which will support over thirty Genesis Healthcare skilled nursing facilities located in New England. The Analyst will assist in preparing forecasts, budgets, journal entries, and ad hoc reports in order to enhance both financial and operational outcomes at the facilities. The Financial Analyst will communicate with both internal and external stakeholders to resolve accounts payable inquiries and will prioritize invoices for payment selection by the Treasury department. This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop skills in various areas of finance and accounting within the Healthcare industry.
- Analyze financial data and provide support to the Market Financial Advisor with forecasting and budgeting.
- Prepare journal entries in compliance with accounting standards (GAAP), and assisting with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Prepare ad hoc financial reports and projections based on financial data through use of pivot tables and vlookups in Microsoft Excel.
- Oversee expense management processes to ensure the centers remain in compliance with budget.
- Assist centers with accounts payable inquiries and prioritizing invoices to be selected for payment by the Treasury department.
- Review expenses at month end to ensure accurate coding and report on budget vs. actual performance.
- Prepare quarterly financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, including analysis of the Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Statement of Cash Flows.
- Provide Accounts Payable (AP) customer service to the centers and their vendors in the market,while coordinating any national vendor concerns with the AP national support team.
- Assist market Financial Advisor with development and maintenance of a successful AP experience in their Market through training, strong communication, collaboration, and problem solving.

- 1-3 years of experience in financial analysis and/or accounting is preferred.
- Previous experience in Healthcare is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel & Google Sheets is required.
- Experience with PeopleSoft accounting software and Adaptive budgeting software is preferred.
