ROLE SUMMARY
The IT Director will lead the company’s technology strategy, ensuring the alignment of IT infrastructure with the business objectives of our multi-state operations. This individual will oversee the planning, implementation, and maintenance of all IT systems, including networks, data management, and software applications. The IT Director will also lead a team of IT professionals to optimize operational efficiency, security, and scalability across all sites. This position will work closely with senior leadership to ensure that technology solutions meet the company’s strategic needs while ensuring full regulatory compliance within the cannabis industry.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the development, implementation, and management of IT strategies and systems across all locations in a multi-state environment.
- Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including network systems, data storage, security protocols, and software applications.
- Ensure all IT systems comply with federal and state regulations governing the cannabis industry.
- Direct and manage the IT team, providing leadership, coaching, and development opportunities.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align technology solutions with business objectives and streamline operations.
- Design and implement robust cybersecurity measures to protect sensitive business and customer data.
- Lead IT budgeting and cost management efforts, ensuring technology investments are optimized and aligned with business priorities.
- Ensure efficient IT support for all employees, including remote and on-site staff, and manage helpdesk operations.
- Regularly evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions to enhance the company’s operations, performance, and competitive advantage.
- Coordinate IT disaster recovery plans and business continuity strategies.
- Oversee vendor relationships and manage IT systems, hardware, software, and services contracts.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes, ensuring IT practices remain up-to-date and compliant.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in IT leadership roles, with at least 5 years in a multi-site or multi-state environment.
- Proven experience managing IT infrastructure in a highly regulated industry, preferably in the cannabis sector.
- Strong expertise in network security, cloud computing, data management, and IT systems integration.
- Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with the ability to lead teams effectively and drive collaboration across departments.
- Strong understanding of compliance requirements in the cannabis industry, including data privacy and security regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving, project management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to present complex IT concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certifications in IT management, network security, or cloud computing (e.g., CISSP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, etc.).
- Experience working with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems in the cannabis industry.
- Familiarity with cannabis-specific compliance software and technology solutions.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
(If Applicable) This position has overall supervisory responsibility for all IT team members.
