Quality Technician
The Quality Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the overall quality, compliance, and safety within the cultivation department. They oversee and participate in our Quality Management System (QMS) to guarantee that personnel and processes adhere to production plans and procedures.
This position requires expertise in food safety, HACCP planning, and a strong attention to detail. The ideal candidate will excel as a team leader and be responsible for:
- Analyzing, developing, and implementing quality process improvements for cultivation areas
- Executing quality and compliance goals within cultivation
- Ensuring quality control, safety, and compliance of all cultivation activities and personnel
- Monitoring patterns within the cultivation department that affect quality
- Reviewing departments raw materials and inputs ensuring quality and compliance standards are met
- Documenting incident reports, and executing CAPA plans and investigations
- Ensuring proper training, development, and mentorship of employees when needed
- Verifying sanitation practices and overall sanitary conditions within the cultivation department
- Providing technical expertise on certain pieces of equipment, as well as ability to troubleshoot and disassemble hardware
This role requires clear communication, mobility, and the ability to work in a professional office and retail environment. The successful candidate must also be able to operate standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working independently without supervision
- Understanding of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations as they pertain to cultivation
- Training and guiding other team members on proper protocols and methods
- Capturing, tracking, and reporting data metrics from work areas and activities
- Ensuring consistent quality of work is achieved
- Maintaining working inventory of necessary equipment for tasks
- Following state and company guidelines, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Good Agricultural Collection Practices (GACP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
Requirements:
- Certified Quality Inspector Certification or obtained within 90 days of employment
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Business Management or equivalent experience preferred
- Experience working in Cannabis and or a highly regulated industry
