Job Overview
We are seeking a program manager who coordinates and facilitates new, modified, or current product samples by providing assistance to coordinate the building of samples, verifying the process and parts are correct and tools are in place. Prepares and submits samples submissions to our customers for approval within a reasonable time frame. Maintain and ensure compliance to the Quality System procedures and work instructions. Implement the quality plan. Maintain customer complaint database, communicate customer complaints, and facilitate implementation of corrective and preventive actions generated by customer complaints. Quality representative on assigned APQP teams.
Responsibilities
- Ensures conformance with environmental, health and safety regulations, policies and practices.
- Coordinates the sample submission process by organizing the activities and function of various departments to achieve a successful sample submission by due date.
- Verify new parts and revised parts are built with proper tooling, materials and a capable process.
- Communicates between the plant, sales office, customer service, and the technical department in Lexington, any problems or needs at the plant location to build and submit samples by the promised date.
- Prepares sample submission package documentation for submission in accordance with customer defined requirements, and makes presentations if required.
- Assists the sales department, customer service department and technical department in filling and shipping engineering requests in a timely manner.
- Submission of pilot paperwork for pilot submissions.
- Responsible for submission status reporting to Management on a monthly basis.
- Liaison with the customer for submission approvals and respective plant visits.
- APQP and Focus Factory team member.
- Coordinate the completion of Problem solving activities and 8Ds to satisfy internal and external customer complaints.
- Maintain and ensure compliance to Quality system procedures and work instructions.
- Implement the quality plan as detailed on the control plan.
- Support lean manufacturing activities.
Experience
- Proven experience in program or project management within a relevant industry.
- Strong knowledge of project engineering principles and practices.
- Familiarity with business process modeling techniques.
- Proficiency in using project management software tools (e.g., Confluence, VersionOne, SharePoint).
- Excellent conflict management skills with the ability to navigate challenging situations.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise teams effectively while fostering a collaborative environment.
- Strong analytical skills for requirements management and process improvement initiatives.
- Relevant certifications in project management methodologies (e.g., PMP, Agile) are a plus.
