General Job Scope Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated supply chain professional to lead our Electronics Components commodity. The role will work directly with various multi-functional partners across the company such as R&D, Product Management, and Operations to help lead improvement initiatives to achieve best-in-class commodity management strategies for Fluke. This successful candidate will foster continuous development of suppliers, participate in design reviews with R&D, recommend supplier selection, support platform cycle management, proactively monitor supply assurance, drive cost reductions, and lead supplier relationships.

The Commodity Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing tactical and strategic commodity plans for the North America operations at Fluke. This individual will lead cost reduction initiatives, on-time delivery, quality, supplier performance and improve on vendor relationships. The position allows for vast and multifaceted exposure across teams and business units.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Form strong partnerships both internally and with suppliers to build influence towards achieving Fluke’s objectives.
• Define and manage winning supply chain strategies.
• Lead vendor relationships and drive year-over-year performance improvements with quality, delivery, costs.
• Negotiate contracts that provide year-over-year benefits in performance.
• Analyze received quotations, select or recommend new suppliers.
• Rationalize existing supplier base through the solicitation of competitive bids.
• Lead new and ongoing supplier audit activities to ensure the supply base has robust process controls and capabilities to meet existing and future business requirements.
• Conduct supply chain risk reviews.

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or Engineering, or relevant experience in supply chain management.
• 3-5 years of supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience using lean methodology processes in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in a low volume and high mix demand for products environment.
• Negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good organization, project management and follow-through skills
• Ability to prioritize, multitask and act in a proactive manner.
• Must be largely self-directed and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to travel (up to 10%) domestically and internationally.
