The purpose of this position is to use established practices and guidelines applying educational
knowledge of design engineering principles aslisted. Thisrole hasthe responsibility to promote Fluor’s
competitiveness within the global marketplace by delivering quality services of unmatched value and
technical competence. This position supports the Area Lead or Lead on assigned projects or performs
work on routine scope engineering assignments and performs specific and limited portions of
engineering assignments.
Principal Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Perform and check routine calculations,specify simple equipment, and solve problems ofsimple
engineering complexity
• Review vendor equipment documentation within the discipline and from other disciplines for
compliance with project requirements, and actively seek discrepancy resolution
• Assist Lead to develop estimates, schedules, progressreports, and key quantity tracking reports
• Identify deviationsin job scope, estimate magnitude of changes, and initiate trends or change
orders
• Assist in the review of vendor lists, preparation of quotation requests, bid tabulations, purchase
orders, and considerations for substitutions for technical acceptability
• Participate in equipment and material procurement activities
• Incorporate health, safety, and environmental factors in design
• Interface with other discipline functions
• Deliver quality work, and adhere to the Operating System Requirements (OSR)
• Execute project work in accordance with approved Activity Plans
• Adhere to industry codes and standards as well as department practices and procedures
• Contribute to and promote the use of Fluor’s knowledge management portals and communities
• Participate in Fluor University® as necessary to follow the curricula as outlined in the Functional
Development Frameworks
• Participate in mentoring program for personal development
• Engage Fluor’s global community, promoting a OneFluor mindset
• Support the Functional Process Lead and Department Manager on initiatives

• Other duties as assigned• Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in engineering field of study and no required previous years of work-related experience (new graduate); a recognized professional certification or registration in the applicable field, if required; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines

• Engineer-in-Training achievement status accomplished
• Advanced knowledge of discipline codes and standards, commercial availability and cost of materials
• Practical field experience
• Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programsPiping
• Acquire basic knowledge of piping components
• Perform basic pipe stress analysis and/or pipe wall thickness (pressure and vacuum) calculations
• Select piping materials required and evaluate service life and suitability
• Acquire basic working knowledge of Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID)
• Acquire basic knowledge of work processes and technicalspecifications ofstress and/or
material engineering operations
