What are the responsibilities and job description for the Design Engineer III, Mechanical Building Systems position at Fluor Corp?
The successful candidate for this position will serve as an Area Lead or staff engineer with responsibility for HVAC, utilities and/or plumbing scope on assigned projects. Job duties include:
• Develop and review project Scope of Services, Scope of Facilities, and other project baseline documents to meet project requirements and goals
• Develop and routinely monitor/maintain estimates, schedules, staffing forecasts, and progress
• Develop/review project design criteria based on applicable local codes and client standards
• Prepare/check design calculations, specifications, and engineering drawings and ensure that they address all relevant project and regulatory requirements
• Participate in activities associated with equipment procurement, inspection, testing, acceptance, installation, and commissioning
• Provide technical support in the development of permitting and subcontracting packages
• Serve as a technical subject matter expert (SME) in areas of expertise
• Assist in training and development of less experienced engineers and designers including performance appraisal input and career coaching
• Other duties as assigned• Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in engineering field of study and six (6) years of work-related experience; a recognized professional certification or registration in the applicable field, if required; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
• Mechanical degree or Architectural Engineering degree with focus on mechanical building systems
• Professional registration (PE License) in mechanical or other relevant engineering field
• Ability to supervise and lead a diverse design team to work effectively with both internal and external organizations• Data center industry experience
• Semiconductor & microelectronics industry experience
• Life sciences & pharma industry experience
• Drawing and modeling experience using AutoCAD, Revit, Plant 3D or Smart 3D
• Practical field experience related to the installation, start-up, and commissioning of HVAC, utilities and/or plumbing systems• Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in an engineering design firm developing mechanical (HVAC, utilities, and plumbing) construction documents
