What are the responsibilities and job description for the Infrastructure HSE Specialist (Night Shift) position at Fluor Corp?
Fluor led joint venture seeking candidates for the newly awarded I-35E Phase 2 project, covering the southern segment of I-35E in Dallas County from I-635 to the Denton County line.
This project is currently being progressed through a design-build project delivery. The Phase 2 project reconstructs and widens the main lanes from six to eight lanes. It also reconstructs the two existing, grandfathered reversible tolled managed lanes, frontage roads and improves several intersections. This is a Texas Clear Lanes project. Texas Clear Lanes is a statewide strategic plan to provide congestion relief through non-tolled roads and is focused on the five largest metro areas in Texas.
The purpose of this position is to promote a safe work environment. These problems include but are not limited to prevention of human injury, environmental degradation and unsafe working conditions/practices. This is done through health, safety and environmental training, programs, and processes with a visible and uncompromised commitment to the protection of the environment as well as the productivity of the Company’s employees.
• Maintain a fundamental knowledge of Company specific Health, Safety, & Environmental (HSE) standards, programs and goals by applying elementary HSE procedures as established by the Company on a project site or in an office through training
• Assess whether project site adheres to Company and regulatory HSE standards and guidelines
• Promote HSE standards and goals with programs throughout the Company and/or project to foster a safe and productive work environment
• Provide support in the development of simple HSE project plans and development of simple HSE specifications
• Maintain simple reports or documents that may be required to meet corporate or regulatory requirements, including monitoring application of HSE standards and goals
• Adhere to and support Fluor's Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability Policies
• Other duties as assigned• Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and no previous years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to four (4) years if non-degreed
• Must be willing to work on nights for an extended period• Basic understanding and usage of Microsoft office suite and mobile applications
• Experience in Heavy Civil sector
• Bilingual• Gather industry-wide HSE-related information and data for application to HSE programs and procedures
• Occasionally assist with the activities of subordinates when requested by supervisor
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
