By delegation and directions from the President the Project Execution Manager execute job duties and tasks listed below with the overall objective of consistently providing top-quality project management and maintain high standard of excellence in all project management functions.
Job Duties:
Strategic planning of the Project Management Plan (PMP) and implementation of the same in coordination with the President and the assigned Project Team.
Overall responsibility and supervision for project deliveries in terms of:
• Consistency in execution between all projects to allow for smooth transitions of individual and project team between projects.
• Consistency between all projects with the company’s: goals, objectives, organization of project teams, internal standards, filing systems, reporting, etc.
• Consistency between all projects in compliance with budget, schedule, technical conformance, quality and fulfillment of all contractual obligations to the clients.
• Consistency between all projects in adaptation and execution of special project execution requirements from clients – requirements that are in addition to Virta’s standard project execution requirements.
• Ensure swift and effective communications with clients.
• Ensure all project activities are conducted in a manner that highly prioritizes safety, environment, community, quality, and Virta’s ethic mandates, policies and procedures.
• Ensure periodic or as required updates and maintenance of each project’s Project Management Plan and its Sub Management Plans.
• Ensure the project communication system is, and remains, swift and effective and per the Project Communication Plan.
• Ensure swift and effective gathering and coordination of all inputs from different project management teams required by engineering such as construction, commissioning, fabrication, logistic and procurement. Assist with the same from the Client.
• Ensure swift and effective gathering and coordination of all information from Value Engineering decisions and communicate the same to all relative parties.
• Ensure swift and effective implementation of all Project Management Sub-Plans such as: Procurement Management Plan, Fabrication Management Plan, Logistic Management Plan, Construction Management Plan and Commissioning Management Plan.• Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and eight (8) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal twelve (12) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner• Minimum 10-15 year experience in project management roles of increasing responsibility in the mining and/or bulk material handling industry. Experience on project sites is desirable.
• Virta’s work includes overseas projects for international clients. Experience in international mining projects and/or working with international suppliers is highly desirable.
• Experience in Design/Supply and/or EPC mining projects is desirable.
• Technical background with a broad multi-disciplinary base.
• Background in conveyors or material handling systems is desirable.
• Background in one or more following categories: contracting, engineering, fabrication, SCM, break bulk logistic, construction or commissioning.
• Engineering degree, BS or higher.
• Excellent people management and leadership skills:
o Ability to work in large teams across various disciplines, cultures and languages.
o Able to instill a team spirit and cooperation so everyone on the project works as one team and is ready to tackle any task.
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to work in the fast-paced work environments of D/S and EPC projects and
• Ability to adjust and react quickly to implement approved changes in the project.
• Ability to communicate effectively in a second language is desirable.

o The project scope, schedule, cost, and quality to a successful completion.
o Successful execution of Security, Safety, Health and Environment Management Plans.
o Overall project resource requirements via planning and forecasting.
o Maintenance and update of the master project schedule.
o Swift and efficient distribution of all approved technical decision memorandums.
o Swift and efficient distribution of all project meetings minutes.
o Swift and efficient distribution of all decisions regarding cost saving /value engineering.
o Swift and efficient distribution of all decisions resulting from constructability reviews.
o Compliance and submission of all project reporting required by contract and internal project controls.
o Gathering and preparation of all commercial and technical documents required for invoicing, change orders, etc.
o Mentor and train subordinates assigned to the project or designated area
o Plan and manage post-project lessons learned session(s).
o Maintenance of the Project Document- and Communication Plans.
