What are the responsibilities and job description for the Architect III position at Fluor Corporation?
The purpose of this position is to provide the essential administrative processes, advanced intermediate technical knowledge, and perform the work listed. This role has the responsibility to promote Fluor’s competitiveness within the global marketplace by delivering quality services of unmatched value and technical competence. This position serves as an Architectural Area Lead on assigned projects or performs moderately complex architectural assignments, evaluates, selects and applies standard architectural techniques to a medium set of difficult assignments.
- Apply cost competitive execution techniques to develop the most cost-effective total project solution for the discipline engineering work
- Develop and review project Scope of Services, Scope of Facilities, and other project baseline documents for all phases of projects
- Develop estimates and schedules, progress reports, including manpower forecasts
- Establish, track, and monitor material key quantities; provide analysis and forecasts
- Develop and review specifications, including design criteria
- Incorporate health, safety, and environmental factors in design
- Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines
- May need to travel to attend to business related matters
- Meet expectations on attendance and punctuality
- Other duties as assigned

Basic Job Requirements
- Accredited professional architectural degree based on country requirements and six (6) years of work-related experience; professional architectural registration; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements

- NAAB accredited professional architectural degree and six (6) years of work-related experience
- Professional architectural registration

- Intermediate knowledge of discipline codes and standards, commercial availability and cost of materials, means and methods of construction
- Effort-hour estimating and staff forecasting
- Managing and leading a medium project
- Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programs
- Proficiency in the use of 2D and 3D architectural design software such as Autodesk AutoCAD, Bentley MicroStation, Bentley OpenBuildings, Sketchup
- Proficiency in the use of Autodesk Revit software
- EPC project experience working on commercial or industrial projects
- Remote work requests will be evaluated based on positions, job function, and project requirements. However, if remote work is approved, periodic travel to home office and/or project site will be required
Preferred Qualifications
- NCARB certification
- Intermediate knowledge of:
o Architectural programming
o Conceptual design of buildings and sites
o Renderings and 3D visualization
o Sustainable design
- Practical field experience
- Membership and active participation in external technical society
- EPC project experience working on projects for the US Department of Energy or other US Federal Government agency
- EPC project experience working on nuclear facility projects under a nuclear quality assurance program
- EPC project experience working on manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or biotech projects.
Salary Range
92,500 to 162,500

The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
